Using OpenHumanizer
Please read this page carefully. If you do not agree with these Terms of Service, you should not use this website or any of its tools.
By accessing or using OpenHumanizer (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). These Terms form a legal agreement between you and the operator(s) of OpenHumanizer (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
If you are using the Service on behalf of an institution, organization, or company, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” will refer to that organization as well as yourself.
2. Purpose of the Service
OpenHumanizer is an educational and productivity-focused platform that offers:
- An AI humanizer to rephrase and refine AI-generated drafts.
- Grammar and clarity assistance for English writing.
- Informational content about AI writing, AI detectors, and responsible usage.
The Service is designed to support learning, editing, and improving your own work. It is not intended to replace your independent thinking, research, or judgement.
3. Eligibility & acceptable use
You may use OpenHumanizer only if you can form a binding contract with us and only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
When using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- Use the tools to deliberately violate academic integrity, exam rules, or school policies.
- Use the Service to generate or refine content that is illegal, hateful, abusive, or harmful.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass our rate limits or technical protections.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ data.
- Use automated systems or bots to send excessive requests to the Service.
Depending on your location, additional local laws may apply to your use of AI and online services. You are solely responsible for knowing and following those rules.
4. Educational & ethical use
We encourage you to use OpenHumanizer as a support tool, especially for improving clarity and style in your writing. However, you remain fully responsible for how you use the outputs.
In particular, you agree not to rely on the Service for:
- Submitting work as entirely “your own” when your school or institution forbids AI assistance.
- Misrepresenting AI-assisted work as unassisted human work where that would breach rules or contracts.
- Producing misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive content.
Our tools may help reduce AI-style writing patterns, but we do not guarantee that any text will pass specific AI detectors or plagiarism checks. You must always review and, where necessary, edit the final output yourself.
5. User content & responsibility
“User Content” means any text or information you input into the Service, as well as any results you generate using the tools.
You are responsible for:
- The legality and safety of the User Content you provide.
- Ensuring that your use of the Service is allowed under your school, employer, or platform policies.
- Reviewing, editing, and verifying any output before you rely on it or share it.
You retain any rights you have in your original content. You grant us a limited license to process User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service, as explained further in our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, we (or our licensors) own all intellectual property rights in the website design, interface, text, and other elements of OpenHumanizer, excluding your own User Content and third-party services or trademarks.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service or its content except as allowed by these Terms or with our prior written permission.
7. Third-party services
OpenHumanizer may integrate or interact with third-party services, such as analytics, advertising networks (including Google AdSense), or external AI APIs used for grammar or rewriting tasks.
Those third-party services are subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of such services through OpenHumanizer also means you accept those third-party terms where applicable. We are not responsible for any issues arising from third-party services.
8. No guarantee of detector results
Some visitors are interested in how AI detectors, plagiarism tools, or similar systems may treat AI-assisted text. While our tools may help make writing feel more natural, we cannot control how external detection systems behave.
We do not guarantee that:
- Any text processed by OpenHumanizer will be classified as “human-written” by AI detectors.
- Any text will pass plagiarism checks or academic integrity reviews.
You should always review and adapt the text and follow the rules of your institution or platform.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or suitability of the Service or any output it produces.
In particular, we do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- All bugs or issues will be fixed quickly or at all.
- Any content generated or suggested by the Service will be correct, appropriate, or lawful in your specific context.
You use the Service at your own risk and judgement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, whether incurred directly or indirectly, resulting from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Any reliance placed on outputs generated by the Service.
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
- Any other matter relating to the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it may be limited according to applicable law.
11. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including features, limits, or availability, with or without notice.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page. If you continue to use the Service after the updated Terms take effect, you will be deemed to have accepted them.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, misused the Service, or engaged in behavior that may harm other users or the platform.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Some provisions of these Terms will continue to apply even after termination, including those related to intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.
13. Privacy
For details on what information we collect and how we use it, please read our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
